Tattoos tell the tale of our lives. The very act is rooted in ritual, and answers an ancient urge to commit art permanently to the body. A balancing act between pain and pleasure, it's a way to preserve moments of growth, to make you feel more at peace in your own skin, and to stamp the skin with a maker's mark from an artist you admire. We sat down with six of Toronto's restaurant stars to get the stories behind their body art.
